Terrorist 'Tweets'? US Army Warns of Twitter Dangers

A chapter on "Potential for Terrorist Use of Twitter" notes that Twitter members sent out messages, known as "Tweets," reporting the July Los Angeles earthquake faster than news outlets and activists at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis used it to provide information on police movements.

"Twitter has also become a social activism tool for socialists, human rights groups, communists, vegetarians, anarchists, religious communities, atheists, political enthusiasts, hacktivists and others to communicate with each other and to send messages to broader audiences," the report said.

Now that Janitors of Anarchy is taken, my new fantasy Punk band name is Caustic Verbosity. Or is it?

Now that someone has used my favorite band name suggestion, Janitors of Anarchy (from Jello Biafra's spoke word album No More Cocoons), I have to come up with a new fantasy punk band name. Today I like Caustic Verbosity. Of course, my favorite one is A---- B---- B---- F----, but I can't write that here, it's too disgusting. If you want to know, ask me (or Heather Duby) in person.

memcached inspired workqueue = beanstalkd

beanstalkd is a fast, distributed, in-memory workqueue service. Its interface is generic, but was originally designed for reducing the latency of page views in high-volume web applications by running most time-consuming tasks asynchronously.

Philotic, Inc. developed beanstalkd to improve the response time for the Causes on Facebookapplication (with over 9.5 million users). beanstalkd drastically decreased the average response time for the most common pages to a tiny fraction of the original, significantly improving the user experience.

Client libraries for most high level programming languages available.

Needless to say, I love this idea as I love memcached.
